The pound-for-pound best fighter in the world drives a Land Rover Defender, and he did not even buy it. Islam Makhachev’s garage is three lines long. Here is each one, with its status, and the reason the list is so short.
Quick answer
Islam Makhachev’s garage has three entries: a Land Rover Defender in Gondwana Stone, worth nearly $100,000, gifted by ABD Auto Services Dubai after UFC 322 and shown on his own Instagram; a 2023 Mercedes-AMG G63 reported by HotCars at $180,000 to $201,689; and motorcycles of an unpublished make.

Islam Makhachev’s car collection at a glance
| Car | Year | Estimated value | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Land Rover Defender, Gondwana Stone, gift from ABD Auto Services Dubai | 2025 | nearly $100,000 | Gifted |
| Mercedes-AMG G63 | 2023 | $180,000 to $201,689 (HotCars, via classic.com) | Reported |
| Motorcycles, make and model not published | n/a | n/a | Confirmed |
Three lines. That is the whole garage, and this page is shorter than the others in the series because of it. The Defender is Gifted and Confirmed: he showed it himself. The G63 is Reported by one source. The motorcycles are Confirmed as a fact, he rides, without a single model we can name.
What car does Islam Makhachev drive?

A Land Rover Defender in Gondwana Stone, given to him after he became a two-division champion at UFC 322. The pound-for-pound best fighter in the world drives a Defender, and here is why that is not strange.
Islam Makhachev was born on 27 October 1991 in Burshi, a mountain village in Dagestan. He trains at American Kickboxing Academy in California, held the lightweight title, and added the welterweight title at UFC 322. He also owns a livestock farm in Dagestan with hundreds of sheep and horses. Nothing in that sentence suggests a man who wants a Lamborghini.
He is the opposite of Conor McGregor in every way that matters to this site. McGregor’s garage is a list of trophies. Makhachev’s is a working vehicle, a reported G-wagen and some motorbikes. Both are champions. Only one of them has a Rolls-Royce.
Islam Makhachev’s Land Rover Defender
On 15 November 2025, Makhachev beat Jack Della Maddalena by unanimous decision at Madison Square Garden to take the welterweight title and become the UFC’s eleventh two-division champion. When he got back to Dubai, ABD Auto Services, working with Makhmud Magomedov, handed him a new Land Rover Defender in Gondwana Stone, a muted stone-grey, valued at nearly $100,000.
He posted it himself. On his Instagram story he thanked his brothers for a gift he called unexpected and welcome, which is why the Defender is Confirmed as well as Gifted: the giver published it, and so did he. Two independent confirmations of one car, on the day.
The source does not say which Defender. The current generation comes as a three-door 90, a five-door 110 and a long 130, with engines from a four-cylinder to a V8. The price of the gift points to a well-specified 110, but that is a reading, not a fact, so the table leaves the variant out. For the rest of the range, see our Land Rover page.
Land Rover Defender specs and prices
Because the variant is not reported, these figures cover the current Defender range rather than one car. The price range is the one HotCars gave for the US market at the time of the gift.
| Spec | Value |
|---|---|
| Generation | L663, on sale since 2019 |
| Body styles | 90 (three-door), 110 (five-door), 130 (five-door, extended) |
| Engines | four-cylinder petrol and diesel, six-cylinder mild hybrid, 5.0-litre supercharged V8 |
| Power range | up to 525 PS for the V8, 635 PS for the OCTA |
| US price range | $58,750 to $169,950 depending on variant |
| Reported value of the gift | nearly $100,000 |
| Colour | Gondwana Stone |
A Defender is a serious off-roader with a luxury interior, which is the only combination that makes sense for a man who splits his year between a gym in San Jose and a farm in the Caucasus. It will climb a track to Burshi. It will also park outside a Dubai hotel without apology.
Why champions from Dagestan get cars as gifts
The Defender was not the first car handed to a fighter from the Caucasus after a title, and it will not be the last. Khabib Nurmagomedov, Makhachev’s mentor, was reported to have received a Mercedes S-Class from Ramzan Kadyrov. The pattern is a regional one: a champion returns, and the people around him mark the moment with a car.
For our status system that pattern matters. A gifted car is rarely the fighter’s own taste. It is what the giver thought a champion should drive. So the Defender tells you what Makhachev’s circle values, a capable vehicle in a quiet colour, as much as it tells you about him. That is why we keep Gifted as a separate label instead of folding it into Confirmed.
It also explains why Makhachev’s thank-you was addressed to his brothers rather than to a dealership. In Dagestan the car is the message. The brand is secondary.
Islam Makhachev’s Mercedes-AMG G63
HotCars reports a 2023 Mercedes-AMG G63, and prices it at $180,000 to $201,689 using classic.com sales data. That is one source, and a price taken from the market rather than from his invoice, so the car is Reported. We have not found a post of his own showing it.
If the report is right, the G63 is the car that bridges the two halves of his life. It is the default vehicle of the Caucasus for anyone who can afford one, boxy and upright like the old Defender, and it is also the car you see outside every gym in Dubai. For the brand’s other cars on this site, see our Mercedes-Benz page.
Mercedes-AMG G 63 specs
HotCars’ figures for the G 63, which match the numbers Mercedes-AMG published for the second-generation W463 at its 2018 launch.
| Spec | Value |
|---|---|
| Engine | 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 |
| Power | 577 hp (585 PS) |
| Torque | 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) |
| Gearbox | 9-speed automatic |
| Drivetrain | permanent all-wheel drive with three locking differentials |
| 0 to 100 km/h | 4.5 seconds |
A G 63 is a 2.5-tonne box that reaches 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, which is the reason it is the one off-roader that supercar owners also buy. Makhachev, on the reported evidence, went the other way: the box first, no supercar at all.
The motorcycles
Makhachev rides motorcycles. That much is confirmed by his own posts. What he rides is not: the sources that mention the bikes do not name a brand, and he has not either. So the table has a row that says motorcycles and nothing else, and we would rather have that row than a guessed model.
If a make appears on his own channel, the row gets a name. Until then it stays as a fact without a badge.
The farm, the horses and the sheep
The farm is not a vehicle, but it explains the vehicles. Makhachev owns a livestock farm in Dagestan with hundreds of sheep and horses, and he spends his time away from the gym there. A Defender and a G-wagen are farm cars with the price of supercars. The motorcycles are how you get around a mountain village.
That is the reading of this garage. Not a man who could not afford a Ferrari, but a man whose life has no road for one. The horses are the fast things he owns.
How his garage compares
In our UFC fighters car collections 2026, Makhachev has the shortest list and the clearest story. Alex Pereira bought two Lamborghinis and announced each one. McGregor built a fleet. Makhachev was given a Defender and said thank you.
The comparison with his mentor is the one that lands. Khabib Nurmagomedov drove a Ferrari California T and a Mercedes-AMG GT S until, on the reported evidence, they were seized in 2024. Makhachev, a generation later and with more titles, drives a Land Rover. Same village roads. Different answer.
Every profile in our Celebrity car collections 2026 hub uses the same labels, which is why a three-line table can sit next to an eight-line one without apology.
